MSG. Ret. Lelon Jay Norman 79 of Liberty Hill TX, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at his home. He was surrounded by love and family. Graveside services will be held Wednesday April 19, 2023 at 1pm at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be held at North's Funeral Home from 10am-12 pm on Wednesday. Lelon J. Norman was born January 15, 1944 in Burkburnett, Texas to (Leroy Norman and Faye Varner-Norman. He attended and then graduated from Abilene High School. He married the love of his life Susan Kamp on July 7, 1983, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a veteran of the Texas Army National Guard, the 111th Engineer Battalion and awarded the Adjutant General's individual award, Texas Federal Service Medal, Army Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon, Army Achievement Medal, Noncommissoned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, and Arm Service Ribbon. MSG. Ret. Lelon Jay Norman was preceded in death by his parents Leroy K. Norman and Faye Varner-Norman. Left to cherish his memories are wife Susan Norman, daughter and son -in-law Kelli and Heath McDonald, son and daughter-in-law Kenneth and Pam Norman, son Kyle Norman, step-daughter and son -in-law Tina and Mark Ferguson, and step-son Chris Cordova, brother Gary Norman, 8 grandchildren 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and many friends.
