Master Sergeant Monica Beth (Fagan) Johnson age 42 of Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene Texas went home to be with the Lord on Friday April 4 2008. Beth was born in Omaha Nebraska on February 12 1966 to W. Richard (Rick) and Danolda J. (Matson) Fagan. She graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School and entered the United States Air Force in May 1984. Beth began her career at Lackland Air Force Base (AFB) Texas and served in the Logistics career field. Her assignments included Davis-Monthan AFB Arizona; Kadena Air Base Okinawa Japan; Francis E. Warren AFB Wyoming; Randolph AFB and Lackland AFB in San Antonio Texas. Most recently she was a member of the 7th Logistics Readiness Squadron at Dyess AFB Texas. Beth deployed in support of Operation Southern Watch (1999) and Operation Enduring Freedom (2008). Her military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal Air Force Commendation Medal with 4 oak leaf clusters Air Force Achievement Medal and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 7 oak leaf clusters. Beth enjoyed serving her country in the Air Force. She was known as a true patriot with a very loving and caring attitude. Serving others and sharing a smile to brighten someone's day was her goal in life. She made it a point at home and at work to make things fun and entertaining. She wanted everyone to know what it meant to be happy and full of joy. Beth was also a devoted mother who always sought the best for her children. She was deeply committed to nurturing them and raising them to know the Lord Jesus Christ. Her faith was a precious gift she enjoyed sharing with others. She will be remembered for having a big heart and never overlooking someone in need. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 17 years Master Sergeant Patrick "PJ" Johnson and children Joshua and Hannah of the home; her mother Mrs. Danolda "Dee Dee" Fagan of Lincoln Nebraska; her brother Mark Fagan of Gresham Nebraska; her sister Diane and husband Steve Berlage of Dexter Michigan; grandmother Mabel Matson of Lincoln Nebraska; nephews Christopher and Aaron Fagan of Lincoln Elijah and Micah Berlage of Dexter; and nieces Brittni and Elizabeth of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her father W. Richard (Rick) Fagan. A celebration and memorial service with full military honors will be held on Friday April 11 2008 at 2:00 pm at Beltway Park Church 4009 South Loop 707 Abilene TX 79606.
