Nancy Armistead Bevill devoted wife mother and grandmother died on February 2 2013 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease and on what would have been her 56 th wedding anniversary. She was a long time resident of Abilene who was a proud homemaker and mother. She and her husband Clovis Bevill owned Bevill's Jewelry in Abilene in the 1950's to 1970's. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 – 7:00 p.m. in North's Memorial Chapel 242 Orange Street. Services will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at First Central Presbyterian Church with Dr. Cliff Stewart and Reverend Janice Six officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park with James Mitchell officiating; under the direction of North's Funeral Home. There will be an Eastern Star ceremony at the cemetery. Ms. Bevill was born in Dallas Texas on May 17 1931. She graduated as Valedictorian from Honey Grove High School and from Texas State College for Women now known as Texas Women's University in 1952. Upon graduation she taught Home Economics at Kilgore High School. She met her husband Clovis Bevill in Kilgore as he was teaching at Kilgore Junior College. Clovis and Nancy were married at First Presbyterian Church Kilgore on February 2 1957. They moved to Abilene in 1958 to open Bevill's Jewelry. Abilene was equal distance from her family and Clovis'. She joined First Central Presbyterian Church and the Friendly Sunday School class in 1958. She served the church as a deacon. She and Clovis were active in various Masonic organizations.  She was a Life Member and past Worthy Matron of Cora Posey Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by husband Clovis Bevill; mother Martha Wilson Armistead and father John Washington Armistead. She is survived by her son Larry G. Bevill and wife Charlene of Abilene; much loved Grandson Bryce Bevill also of Abilene; sister Bobbe Holmes of Argyle Texas; and brother John Armistead and wife Tieko of Abilene. She is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews from Florida to California. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Buffalo Gap Presbyterian Ministries Inc. or Abilene Chapter 30 Order of the Eastern Star.
