Nelda Faye Davis-Brewster, 80, of Abilene passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 12:20pm. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 1pm at Elmwood Memorial Cemetery, Abilene with Rev. Jim Hargrove officiating. Nelda was born November 7, 1943, in Knox City, TX to Oretta Kilgore and John "Red" Kilgore. Nelda grew up in Benjamin, Texas and graduated from Benjamin High School where she was active in basketball, band and was the Senior Class Favorite. Nelda married Tom Brewster on June 11, 1963, in Benjamin, Texas. She had an active life receiving her cosmetology license and her licensed vocational nursing degree. Nelda enjoyed working in the family restaurant in Benjamin, "Big Reds" cafe, attending church services/activities, playing piano, and all outdoor activities including fishing. She was also a wonderful cook as many of you know! God Bless her as she sits at the right hand of our Father above. She then met and married Richard Davis on March 1, 2001, and they enjoyed themselves and loved one another until her passing. She was a caring and compassionate person, loved life and especially enjoyed helping others and loved her Lord above! Nelda was preceded in death by parents John and Oretta Kilgore, previous Husband Thomas Lloyd Brewster Sr., older brother Jerry Kilgore, son Clinton Brewster and daughter-in- law Lindsey Brewster. Left to cherish her memories are husband, Richard Davis of Abilene, sons, Bart Brewster of Abilene and Tom and Kristi Brewster of Colorado Springs CO. Grandchildren Madison, Kiley, Cheydon, Jordan, Justin. Great grandchildren Blaize, Silas, Tripten, and Brazos Brewster.
