Odell Melvin Wilson, Sr. of Abilene passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025. Funeral Services will be held at University Church of Christ 10:00 AM Saturday, February 22, 2025. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025, 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM at University Church of Christ. Odell Melvin Wilson, Sr, of Abilene, TX at the tender age of 53 transitioned on February 15, 2025. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Odell and Yvonne Wilson. He graduated from Sarah T. Reed High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. On December 3, 1994, Odell and Dionne Thompson were joined in holy matrimony, of this union, two sons Odell Jr and Douglas (Shaina) Wilson. He was preceded in death by his father, Odell G. Wilson, his paternal grandparents, Prince Wilson and Hattie Pearl Wilson; his maternal grandparents Warren Atkins and Mildred Carter, and his granddogs Sandy and Bubbles. Odell leaves to cherish memories; his loving wife of 30 years, Dionne Wilson, two sons Odell Jr and Douglas (Shaina) Wilson, two sisters Renee Erwing and Otia Bowie; in laws Douglas Melancon and Wilson (Breeda) Thompson and a host family and friends.
