Ona M. Higgins 66 of Abilene Texas passed away Monday March 01 2010 at a local hospital. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at North's Funeral Home 242 Orange Street. A graveside service is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Bradshaw Cemetery with Dr. Herb Wood officiating. Ona was born October 19 1943 in Denton County to Henry and Frances Thomason. She lived most of her life in Hermleigh and Snyder Texas moving to Abilene in 1991. Ona was preceded in death by her husband William Higgins; a daughter Kimberly Kiker; her parents; and two brothers James Thomason and Floyd Thomason. She is survived by her two sons Charles Vansickle of Snyder and Greg Kiker and wife Juniece of Snyder; a daughter Pam Vansickle of Abilene; two sisters Beverly Walker and husband Johnny of Huntsville Texas and Linnie Moss and husband Lee of Levelland Texas; two brothers Lloyd Thomason of Fort Worth and Moody Thomason and wife Daphne of Hermleigh; a sister-in-law Anna Thomason of Fort Worth; five grandchildren: Cortni Josh Taylor Tanner and Lainey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
