Orville F. Helberg 87 of Abilene Texas passed away Sunday April 27 2008. Visitation will be Tuesday 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. at North's Funeral Home 242 Orange St. Services will be Wednesday April 30 2008 at Our Savior Lutheran Church 4933 South 7th St. with Reverend LaVerne Janssen officiating; burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Orville was born January 11 1921 in Fairmont Oklahoma to Ernest and Sophia Holly Helberg. He was a Veteran of WWII National Guard of the United States from September 1940 to October 1945. During his service he received The American Defense Service Medal. He then went on to be a sales man at RL Anderson International Dealership. He was a longtime member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and Leader of Lutheran Layman's League. He was preceded in death by his parents one brother and one sister. He is survived by his wife Margaret Helberg; one daughter Arlene Hamlin and husband David of Wimberly Texas; two sons Ronny Helberg and wife Laura of Lohn Texas Lawrence Helberg and wife Paulette of Austin Texas. Six grandchildren; Cody Rhodes Chris Rhodes Haylie Deans Lindsey Helberg Brittany Helberg and Lance Helberg and two great grandchildren Dylan Rhodes and Delaney Rhodes. In lieu of flowers the family has a memorial set up with Lutheran Hour Ministry Our Savior Lutheran Church.
