Panfilo L. Meza "Chando", age 86 of Abilene passed from this life on August 30th, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be from 6pm to 8pm with the rosary at 7pm on Tuesday, September 5th at North's Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be at 10am Wednesday, September 6th at St. Francis Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Abilene City Cemetery.
Panfilo married the love of his life Geronima Meza and helped raised her daughters as his own. He worked at Dixie Pig as a cook for many years, he then worked at Abtex Beverages For 15 years where he retired from. After retirement he would hang out with his friends eating and drinking coffee at the Popular and Alfonso Herandez bakery. He always had the best Jokes. He enjoyed going to watch baseball, playing poker, dominos and drinking coffee with his neighbor. Panfilo was a big fan of AHS Eagles and San Francisco 49ers, but what he enjoyed most in life was fishing and camping.
Panfilo was preceded in death by Faustino B Meza, Demetria Lujan his wife Geronima Meza, 4 sisters, and 6 brothers.
Left to cherish his memories are Faustino Meza, Leticia Garza (Armando), Carmen Mendez (Adam), Debbie Romero, Norma Rodriquez (Isaac) and a special grandson Javier Meza (Elizabeth) and many more grandkids, nieces, and nephews.
