Obituary

Patricia "Pat" Hambrick 86 of Abilene passed away Monday March 28 2011 at a local hospital. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at North's Memorial Chapel. Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Texas State Veterans Cemetery under the direction of North's Funeral Home 242 Orange Street .  A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Pastors Janice Six and Henry Chisholm officiating. Pat was born December 6 1924 in Webster Groves Missouri to Art and Dorothy Dugger. She graduated Webster Groves High School .  During WWII she met Burl Hambrick while he was stationed in St. Louis with the U.S. Army Air Corps. They were married in Webster Grove on October 31 1943. After the war they moved to Abilene where they lived for over 60 years. Pat worked at the Cotton office for many years and later for Farrington Brothers Marketing as executive secretary. A job she loved. She was very active in Cactus Lions Club and was a volunteer for 15 years at Hendrick Hospital . She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Burl in 2009; and her two brothers Rob and Ben. She is survived by her son Phillip of Seguin ; granddaughter Dee Arterburn and husband Kevin of Midlothian Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. Family was important to Pat and she loved them all dearly. Pat was a very active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She held this church very dear to her heart.
