Paul was born on April 1, 1936, in Humboldt, Iowa, to Lowell E. Sr. and Helen E. (Kelsey) Jennings. He was baptized at The Methodist Church in Bradgate, Iowa, on July 2, 1950. A graduate of Clarinda High School's Class of 1953, Paul enlisted in the United States Air Force on July 6, 1956, proudly serving his country for 21 years. He retired with distinction as a Senior Master Sergeant on July 1, 1977. Paul spent the majority of his military career as a Flight Engineer on C-123 and C-141 aircraft. He completed multiple tours in the Vietnam War, flying cargo missions behind enemy lines to support troops on the ground. He served at bases across the United States, including California, Texas, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Washington State, and his assignments took him around the world in support of America's global missions. Upon completing his military service, Paul carried the same discipline, commitment, and resolve into his civilian career. His professional path included roles with Bill Reid Distributing and the founding of Jennings Remodeling and Rental Management. He later established Veterans Garage Door Company, an authorized Raynor dealer-a business that proudly continues serving the Big Country today. Paul is survived by his second wife, Maria Arredondo Jennings; his daughters, Kelly (Steve) Pfund of St. Louis, Missouri, and Melanie Rodriquez of Abilene, Texas; and his son, Richard (Nicole) Arredondo of La Pryor, Texas. He is also survived by his sisters, Phyllis Hedgecock, Lynda (Merle) Mellencamp, Diane (Myron) Nothwehr, and Nancy Woodard; his sisters-in-law, Carolyn Jennings and Sandra Brown; and his brother-in-law, Sonny (Colette) Goode. He leaves behind numerous nephews, nieces, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Paul is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Robbie E. (nee Goode) Jennings; his sons, Jerry S. Jennings and Tommy D. Jennings; and his great-grandson, Jerry W. Jennings. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Lowell Jennings Jr. and Gerald Jennings; his brothers-in-law, Lynn Brown, Jack Hedgecock, Jim Woodard, Billy Goode and Jerry Goode; his sisters, Shirley (Dean) Loos, Donna Jennings, Marjorie Jennings, and Mary Lou (Bob) Baker; sisters-in-law, Peggy (Bo) Robberson and Dorothy Bacon. Known lovingly as "Papa," Paul cherished every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They brought him his greatest joy. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with his sons and friends. A natural storyteller-most of whose tales were indeed true-Paul never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand. A service and interment will be held on Friday, January 16, at 3:00 p.m. at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, 7457 West Lake Road. Family and friends are warmly invited to join in honoring his life, service, and the legacy he leaves behind.
