Paul Joseph Ruska 91 died Wednesday August 3 2011.   Interment/service will be 9:00 a.m. Monday September 19 2011 at Texas State Veteran's Cemetery in Abilene with full military honors under the direction of North's Funeral Home 242 Orange St .   Officiating will be Jerry Jordan.     Paul was born March 19 1920 in Youngstown Ohio and was preceded in death by his wife Juliann and his parents Michael and Maria Hruska.   He served in the Army Air Corps as a Tech Sergeant and was a POW in Stalag 17B.   He returned to Ohio and married Juliann Bencze in 1948.   They moved to Abilene with their three children in 1958.   Paul was active for many years in the Lutheran Men of Grace Lutheran Church the Rotary of Abilene Southwest Rotary VFW Model A Club the Purple Heart Association and EX-POW Organization.   He is survived by sons Bruce Ruska and his wife Carole and Gary Ruska; daughter Lynn Monroe and husband Billy; granddaughters Danna McCormick and husband John and Sarah Monroe; two great-grandsons William and Connor McCormick; one sister Helen Richardson and sister-in-law Donna Hruska.   In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to Disabled American Veterans or the American Ex-POW Organization in his memory.   On-line condolences may be sent to www.northsfuneralhome.com.
