Rachel Deloris Riojas, 78, passed away with her children and grandchildren by her side on April 18, 2014 at a local hospital. Services will be held on Friday, April 25th at 2:00 pm at North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange Street. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Rachel was born on April 4, 1936 in Topeka, KS. Her parents were Roque and Nicolasa Munoz. She moved to Abilene, TX in 1977 with her husband, Tommie Riojas where they raised their 7 children. She worked with her husband at Lockheed Martin until her retirement. During her retirement, she occasionally worked on the catering staff at the Abilene Women's Club. Her favorite interests were reading, gardening in her rose garden, and collecting chicken figurines. She was loved and respected by all who came into contact with her. Rachel was resolute and uncompromising in her dedication to her family and children. While family was her number one passion, she also enjoyed the Kansas City Chiefs, or singing and dancing to her favorite Elvis songs. She was the heart of our family and she will be greatly missed. She is survived by her 7 children: Elizabeth, Rosemary, Adam, Rory, Eric, Cinnamon and Deloris. Her 4 daughters: Elizabeth of San Antonio, Rosemary, Deloris and Cinnamon Moore and her husband, Ronnie of Colorado; her 3 sons: Adam, Rory, and Ericand his wife, Lori all of Abilene; grandchildren: Samantha Little, Sloan Gonzales, Brandi Wilson, Cinnamon-Noelle Moore, Casey Riojas, Ronando Moore II, Tristan Riojas, Veronica Riojas and Thaddeus Moore; She is also survived by two sisters and two brothers: Clara Munoz Grice and Marcella Munoz Perez;Anastasio Munoz and Emelio Munoz, all live in Kansas. The family she loved also includes numerous nieces and nephews that reside throughout the United States.
