Ramiro A. Lara Jr., 64 of Abilene, Texas, passed away on November 3, 2025.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Life Church, 2465 Old Anson Road, Abilene. Visitation will take place Thursday, November 6, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at North's Funeral Home.
Ramiro was born in Winters, Texas, and moved to Abilene at an early age. At a young age, Ramiro began his career as a roofer, learning from his uncles and family and following jobs wherever the storms took them. He worked in all forms of labor over his lifetime, but his brothers, lifelong friends, and countless cousins and nephews knew him and learned from him on a roof with a hammer in his hand.
Outside of work, Ramiro enjoyed life's simple pleasures-listening to classic rock while grilling, fishing, or riding around town; as well as relaxing with his favorite Westerns and episodes of Star Trek. Even while relaxing, Ramiro was the first call when anybody needed emergency construction work of any kind done and was always happy to selflessly answer that call.
He is survived by his mother, Carolina Lara of Abilene; wife, Stephania Lara of Abilene; children, Nicolas Lara, Celia Lara, and Emiliano Lara; and granddaughter, Karina Villalobos-Lara. He is also survived by his siblings Isabell Hernandez, Irma Lara, Samuel Lara, and Saul Lara, all of Abilene.
Ramiro was preceded in death by his father, Ramiro R. Lara, and brothers, Ismael Lara and Rene Angel Lara.
Ramiro will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, love for his family, and the laughter and warmth he shared with everyone who knew him.
