Regina Gail (Daughtery) James 58, of Abilene passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, in North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange St. with Rev. Johnny Richard officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, under the direction of North's Funeral Home.
Regina Gail (Daughtery) James was born August 27, 1955 in Stamford, TX to the parentage of Leslie and Birdell Daughtery. She was the fourth of six children. Growing up she attended Woodson Elementary, Mann Middle School, and Abilene High School, all in Abilene, TX.
Regina faced many challenges throughout her lifetime, and handled them with strength, faith, and courage. Regina had a great love, and talent for the arts. She loved dancing, music, and the arts. She enjoyed fashion, and keeping up with the latest trends in make-up, clothing, jewelry, etc. Regina had a compassionate heart, and a great love for children.
Regina accepted Christ at a very early age. She was a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Joe Jackson, Sr., where she remained a member.
Regina is preceded in death by two sisters: Mary Louise Daughtery, and Reta Renell Daughtery.
Regina leaves to cherish her memories: Parents Leslie and Birdell Daughtery, Abilene, TX; two sisters, Ruby Boyd and Evelyn Holcomb; both of Abilene, TX. One brother, Larry Daughtery (Ethileene) of Abilene, TX. four nephews, four nieces, a host of aunts, cousins, and other relatives.
