Richard D. Gibbons 82 of Abilene passed away Tuesday September 23 2008. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by North's Funeral Home 242 Orange St. Mr. Gibbons was born April 12 1926 to Carl and Hazel Gibbons in Cleveland Ohio. He was self-employed for many years in the printing industry and recently owned Debit One Accounting. He served in the United States Navy. He was a member of Elmwood West United Methodist Church. He was the worshipful master in 1961 of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Ohio. He was also a member of the VFW Post 6873. He is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Hazel Gibbons and one sister Joan McFarland. He is survived by his wife Billie Gibbons of the home one daughter Janet Jerge and husband Doug of Sacramento California; one granddaughter Debby Goodman and husband Steve; one grandson Jeff Jerge and wife Sarah; four great-grandsons Jake and Zach Goodman and William and Anderson Jerge. Two nieces and one nephew. Two step-daughters; Jan and Kris and many step- great-grandsons and grand-daughters and a very good friend Carol Ueblacker.
