Richard Brandon Meyer, 56, of Lake Fort Phantom, passed away Sunday April 27, 2014 at an Abilene hospital. Richard was born September 1, 1957 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Rose Mary Brandon and Charles Meyer. He attended school in Fordsville, Kentucky. After moving to Abilene he met his wife, Kelly Yown, and they were married on December 22, 1980. He was a man that never met a stranger and enjoyed talking about anything and everything. He loved fishing, guns and most importantly his family. Richard is survived by his wife Kelly Meyer of Abilene, TX; father and step-mother Charles and Gerry Meyer of Cahokia, IL; son, Brandon (Heather) Woods, of Hartford, KY; daughter, Brittany Meyer of Abilene, TX; grandchildren: Braydon and Sadie Woods of Hartford, KY, Jonathan Mlenak, Teeghan Meyer, Rylie Meyer, and Allee Meyer of Abilene, TX; sisters: Janet (Charlie) Brown of Cahokia, IL, Linda (Wayne) Ploesser of Hillsborough, MO, and brother, Danny (Bridget) Gulledge of New Market, AL. Also, many cousins and close friends. Richard was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Rose and Jack Lloyd, his father-in-law, Robert Yown, his brother, Charles Meyer of Abilene, TX and granddaughter, Breely Woods of Hartford, KY. A Memorial service will be held at North's Funeral Home on May 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.
