Richard Marwedel Smith, 75, of Abilene passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017. Memorial Services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 8, 2017 in North's Memorial Chapel with Pastor David Sims officiating. Mr. Smith was born September 16, 1941, in Salt Lake, Utah to Carl John and Emma (Marwedel) Smith. He spent his life as a general superintendent iron worker. He was a coach for seven years for the Castleberry Youth Association and a very devoted Christian. He was a gentle giant of a man, kind, loving and most of all, very giving. He was the most loving and caring father of all. He was preceded in death by his parents.
