Obituary

Robert Milton Smith, 90, of Abilene, passed away March 13, 2015. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in North's Memorial Chapel with Reverend Weldon Gann officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Abilene. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7:00 p.m. at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange Street. Bob married Dorothy Nevin Krebs in October 26,1946 in Louisville, Kentucky. They moved to Texas where Bob was a carpenter until he retired. Bob loved to hunt deer and rattlesnake, fish in the rivers, and play 42 (dominoes). Bob was a member of the Oak Street Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Claude Smith and Bill Smith, and a sister, Jane Coffer. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy; four daughters: Mary (Katy) Roberts and husband Archie of Abilene, Dorothy (Josie) Self of Throckmorton, Roberta (Bobbie) McLaughlin of Lorena, Texas, and Betty Sue Allen and husband Richard of Hawley; three grandsons; Cody Sutterfield and wife Lorena, Dale Roberts and wife Lindie of Abilene, and Justin Allen and wife Carrie of Abilene; two granddaughters, Julie Richardson and husband Matt of Lorena, and Magan Warren and husband Hunter of Hamlin; and seven great-grandchildren.One brother, Arthur Smith and wife Darlene of Waxahachie, two sisters, Mae Rinehart of Benbrook, and Lou Dixon and husband, J.T. of Elmdale.
