Obituary

Roberto Ayala Tijerina "La Buena Suerte" 72, passed away on January 10, 2025 at Hendrick Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 17, at 10:00am at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church 2525 Westview Dr. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 5:00pm-7:00pm with the Rosary at 6:00pm. Roberto Tijerina, born on February 29, 1952, in Odessa, Texas, to Herlinda A. Tijerina Sheene and Gustavo D. Tijerina. Roberto had a passion for life's simple joys. He was a highly skilled and accomplished carpenter. He was an avid football fan who rarely missed a chance to cheer on his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. In his younger years, he found peace and fulfillment in fishing and took great pride in working on cars. Later in life, Roberto discovered a love for visiting casinos, with Winstar Casino holding a special place in his heart. Above all else, Roberto cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. His love for them was boundless, and those moments brought him the greatest happiness. Roberto will be deeply missed by all who knew him and whose lives he touched with his warmth and presence. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him. Roberto Tijerina is proceeded in death by both parents; Gustavo D. Tijerina and Herlinda A. Tijerina Sheene. brothers; Alejandro A. Tijerina (Alex), Gustavo A. Tijerina, and Cuahutemoc A. Tijerina. granddaughter; Guadalupe Jeanette Tijerina. Left to cherish his memories are: wife, Carmen Tijerina, son; Roberto Tijerina Jr. "Tito" (Leticia) of Odessa, Texas, daughters; Yvonne Tijerina (Eduardo) of Odessa, Texas, and Sarah Lee Tijerina (Miguel) of Abilene, Texas. Step-children; Ernesto Martinez Jr. (Sandy) of Abilene, TX, Robert Martinez of Abilene, TX, brothers; Johnny Tijerina of Abilene, Texas, George Tijerina of Odessa, Texas, sisters; Gracie Guerrero of Lubbock, Texas, Macaria Tijerina Morales of Abilene, Texas, and Angelita T. Reyes of Abilene, Texas. 17 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
