Rodney Dale Payne, 60, of Abilene, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, January 16, 2017. A Graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Friday January 20, 2017, with Joe Foreman officiating. Burial to follow in McBee Cemetery, under the direction of North's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Thursday evening, in North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange St. Mr. Payne was a Baptist. He attended Abilene High School and TSTI. He was retired from the oil field. He was preceded in death by parents, Earl Wayne Payne and Mary Beth Crain, one brother Michael W. Payne. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Fiedler Payne, of 41 years. One daughter, Jamie Daniel and husband Tracy. One son: Larry R. Hodges and wife Sharon. Two sisters: Tammy Bishop and Twyla Abels, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. One uncle: Richard Payne and several nieces and nephews, a host of friends and his beloved dog Ginger.
