Rodney Lee Scarborough 61 of Abilene Texas passed away Wednesday August 22 2012. A graveside service will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco Texas with Ronny Crumpler officiating under the direction of North's Funeral Home 242 Orange Street.
Rodney was born January 8 1951 in Palestine Texas to Rodney and Mira (Townsend) Scarborough. He was raised in Cisco Texas and graduated from Cisco High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. For the last twelve years he worked as a switchboard operator for The Light House for the Blind at Dyess Air Force Base. Rodney is loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
Rodney was preceded in death by his mother grandmother and one uncle.
He is survived by one daughter Angel Verrett of St. Martinville Louisiana; two sisters Patty Dent and husband Lee of Abilene Brenda Hollis and husband Kenneth of Abilene; two grandchildren; two aunts Darlene Crumpler and husband Ronny of Abilene Drucilla Blanding of Eastland; one uncle Rex Townsend and wife Phyllis of Burleson and his nieces and nephews.
