Obituary

Ronald Baker, 62, of Abilene, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 27, 1962, in Tupelo, Mississippi, Ronald was the son of Peter and Lula Mae Baker. He built a life rooted in hard work, loyalty, and love - especially when it came to his family. Ronald worked as a mechanic and had a deep passion for trucks. When he wasn't under the hood, he could often be found enjoying the simple pleasures of life: casting a line while fishing, painting houses with care, or sharing laughs with his best friend, Shawn Lee Conrad. He had a big heart, a big appetite for fried chicken, and an even bigger love for his daughter Kiarra's cooking - particularly her mac and cheese, which he always said was the best. Above all, Ronald was a devoted father, a proud grandfather, and a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, creating memories that will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be remembered for his kind spirit, his love of life's simple joys, and the warmth he brought to every room. Ronald was preceded in death by his son Antwan Baker. Left to cherish his memories are: daughters; Chakyra Baker, Shakierra Baker and Marianna Willis; and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Online Condolences may be made at www.northsfuneralhome.com A Celebration of life will be on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 3:30 PM. For Service location information, the family asks that you please contact Shakierra. Thank you for your understanding during this delicate time.
