Rosie Mae Allen of Abilene passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at BrightPointe at Lytle Lake Nursing Facility. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 11:00 am, at Holiday Hills Baptist Church 5309 Capitol Ave. Visitation will be held Friday, May 24, 2024 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at North's Funeral Home. Rosie was born September 3, 1930 in Frosa, Texas to Arlenia Jones and William Abor. Rosie received her primary education from Woodland Schools near Frosa, Texas. After school, she married Ernest Allen and from this union three children were born: Delois Thompson (William), Raymond Allen, and Kenneth Allen (Danice). Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and one brother. She is survived by her devoted sister, Jane Henderson of Abilene, Texas. Rosie leaves behind five grandchildren: Mashall Lowry, Ashley James, Mirris Ray, Tremaine Diles, and Brandon Diles; as well as Great-Grandchildren; Jasmine Green, Desirae Maston, Nehemiah, Lyric, Mirris, and London Ray, Emonie, Lawrence, Michael, and Eleanore Diles. Additionally, she is survived by one Great-Great Grandchild, Jahalee Green, and a multitude of nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory. Rosie cherished moments spent with her family, particularly with the little ones. In her leisure time, she found joy in crafting ceramics and quilting. She has a passion for cooking and family gatherings, especially during Thanksgiving and Christmas, it was evident in her radiant presence. At the Abor family reunion, she shone brightly with her homemade ice cream and infectious smile. For many years following her relocation to Abilene, Rosie was a devoted member of Plum Street United Methodist Church. Later, she became a loyal and active participant at Bethel Church of God in Christ for 35 years, where she engaged in the sewing circle ministry. Transitioning to Ash Street Baptist Church, she took on roles as Vice-President and Treasurer of the Women's Mission Group. Rosie dedicated 33 years of her career to Hendricks Hospital, pouring love into the children of the pediatrics department. Her adoration for those little ones was boundless. The loved ones of Rosie Allen would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our family, friends, the Holiday Hills Baptist Church, and everyone who generously offered flowers, cards, and extra support.
