Obituary

Rosie Lee Stevenson 78 of Abilene passed away Thursday July 16 2009. Services will be held at Mount Moriah Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday July 23 with Reverend Leon Whaley Jr. officiating under the direction of North's Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at North's Memorial Chapel 242 Orange Street. Rosie Lee was born on March 20 1931 in Calvert Texas to Jinks and Orell Battles both of whom preceded her in death as well as one brother Marvin Battles. She loved to sing. She leaves to rejoice in her home two daughters: Teresa Moore of Lubbock Texas and Rosie Myers of Abilene; two sisters: Paralee Norman of Abilene and Addie Nowlin of Houston Texas; two brothers: Willie C. Battles of Los Angeles California and JD Battles of Oxnard California; nine grandchildren eighteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews cousins and friends. The family wishes to thank every one during our time of bereavement. We are grateful for the kind expressions and deeds of love shown to us. Each act has served to help us bear the burden of grief. Whatever you did to console our hearts will always be remembered and cherished. The family also wishes to thank Hendrick Hospice for their wonderful care.
