Russell "Rusty" Dillon Bullard,43 of Abilene, Texas went to be with our lord unexpectedly, with his wife and children at his side Friday, September 16, 2022, at Hendrick Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2022, at 4 p.m. at Bluff Creek Cowboy Church, 3802 FM 2405 Drasco, Texas with Marcy Grun officiating. His burial will take place at the Bluff Creek Cemetery following the service. The visitation will take place Thursday, September 22, 2022, from 6pm to 8pm at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange Street, Abilene, Texas.

Rusty was born in Abilene, Texas on May 6, 1979, to Richard and Michelle Bullard. He attended Abilene schools and was a graduate of Abilene High School. Rusty was an accomplished man and he loved people; he never met a stranger. His career in Abilene was selling vehicles to customers for many, many years at Star Dodge and Abilene Used Car Sales. He always took the time to get to know his customers and to help provide them the vehicle that met their needs. Rusty gained so many friendships throughout his career and we hope that his legacy will live on in others.

When Rusty wasn't working, his priority was his family. He always gave his all in attending many football, baseball, and softball games. Rusty played on many softball teams himself within the City of Abilene leagues and his team spirit was always a motivator. He was an avid outdoorsman, whether it was hunting or fishing, he always managed to find his happy place outside with the Lord. Rusty absolutely by far loved the Dallas Cowboys and was a fanatic to say the least. He would always say, "this is going to be our year." Rusty was a loyal and devoted family man, and he leaves behind many, many precious memories. When his son Dillon was 2, he had him in a deer blind. They never missed an opportunity to go hunting or fishing together. He adored his mother and father and always stayed close to home and a daily visit was always received. When he became a father on October 14, 2001, he worked very hard to provide for his children. They were a very important part of his life, and he will live on through each of them. Rusty learned in May of this year that he was going to be a grandfather for the first time, and he was overjoyed. On September 24, 2015, Rusty and Christina rekindled their friendship and spent their lives together with laughter and love for 7 years. They went on many adventures together and they always made sure to live a life full of happiness and affection. He would always tell her that he was "twisted" over her and that she was his "gorgeous." Christina vowed to Rusty that she would always let his children know just how much their father was loved.

Rusty is preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother Dorothy McGraw; maternal grandmother Bonnie Marie Thomas; paternal grandparents Mack and Juanita Bullard, and his dear Aunt Debbie.

Rusty is survived by his wife Christina Flores of Abilene; parents Richard and Michelle Bullard of Abilene; children: Krista Louise Bullard of Abilene, Dillon Thomas Bullard of Stephenville, Taylor Marie Bullard of Abilene, and Noah Bodenus, of Abilene. A granddaughter on the way Kinzley Loraine Bullard. Brothers: Jeremy Bullard and Daniel Bullard (wife Shandi Bullard) all of Abilene. Three nieces, who he loved and adored: Melanie, MaKeena, and Madilynn. Amber Cowen (mother of his children). Many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a multitude of friends left to cherish his memory. His untimely death has been absolutely devastating, but the outpouring of love and support from friends, family, employers, and church members has provided extreme comfort to our family. It just goes to show us the impact that Rusty had on everyone's life and how truly loved he was, is, and always will be. The family would like to thank everyone during this difficult time. Special thanks to Dr. Christopher Eddleman and all of the emergency room staff at Hendrick Medical Center.

Pallbearers will be Chris Ramos, Jeff Hubbard, Dan Hall, Justin Langlitz, Brandon Seely and Michael Seely.

We the family ask that in lieu of flowers, to please make a donation to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation in Rusty's memory.

We also ask that black not be worn as Rusty loved colors as they were beautiful. He was a simple man that loved the finer things in life, but he was very humble.
