Ruth V. Near joined many friends and loved ones peacefully on Monday January 25 2010 in Abilene Texas. She will be cremated in Abilene under the direction of North's Funeral Home 242 Orange Street and later taken to Michigan for her final resting place. Born on January 9 1918 in Saginaw Michigan to proud parents Michael and Sadie (Ader) Bruns Ruth was one of seven children all of whom preceded her in death. She will be missed greatly here on earth but will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Ruth is survived by two daughters: Beverly Poe of Austin Texas and Penny Goessling and husband Leo of Abilene Texas; four grandchildren: Jennifer Poe of Dallas Texas Kevin Poe and wife Caroline of Austin Texas Kimberlie Crespo and husband Anthony of Abilene Texas and Ruthann Reynolds and husband Daniel of Abilene; two step-grandchildren: Ana Wilson and husband Bob of Ft. Worth Texas and Karla Cunningham and husband Jeremiah of Amarillo Texas; fifteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and devoted lifelong friends Yvonne and George Baumann of Saginaw Michigan. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Saginaw Michigan or Hendrick Hospice Care 1900 Pine Street Abilene Texas 79601.
