Ruthie ""Toodie"" Fowler 70 of Abilene passed away May 23 2009. Services will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at North's Memorial Chapel with Bob Cheathum officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill under the direction of North's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. at North's Memorial Chapel 242 Orange St. Toodie was born October 19 1938 in Fluvanna Texas to James & Martha Shifflett. She married Johnny B. Fowler September 1 1956 in Abilene Texas. They were married 33 years. She was a homemaker. She was a licensed cosmetologist and owned Ruth's Beauty Salon in Abilene for many years. She made so many friends throughout her life here on Earth. She loved to work in the yard. She took a lot of pride in working on people's hair. She loved to play dominos especially 42. She always wanted snacks and candy kept in her room for her three special great grandsons Daniel Zack and Jacob. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband one son four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her daughter Selene Rose and husband Danny of Clyde; son Stuart Fowler of Abilene; three grandchildren Stephanie Rose o f Clyde Cody Rose and wife Darla of Abilene and Jason Fowler of Austin; six great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law; three sisters-in-law; a lifelong best friend Wilma Bergan of Abilene numerous loving nieces nephews cousins and friends. The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Dawson and to all of his little angels.
