Sam Sorenson, 70, of Leuders, Texas passed away Friday, June 12, 2015. A Memorial Service will be held Monday in Fort Phantom Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m., with arrangements handled by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange St. Mr. Sorenson was born October 4, 1944 in Haskell, Texas to Speck and Nadine (Anderson) Sorenson. He grew up in Haskell, but lived in numerous cities during his approximately 20 year career with Haliburton. He finally settled back in his hometown area where he started his own trucking company staying busy until his death. He will be remembered by all as a friendly and generous man and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by parents, Speck and Nadine Sorenson. He is survived by four children and nine grandchildren: Son; Dr. Marney Sorenson and wife Paula and their children Nathan, Wesley and Rachel. Daughter; Carrie Rodgers and husband Todd and their children Cooper Rodgers, Lanie Rodgers, and Emily Parks and her husband Ben. Daughter; Jessica Sorenson. Son; Dr. Josh Sorenson and wife Erica and their children Garrett, Haylee and Natalee. He is also survived by two sisters: Sue Davis and husband Vonay and Ruby Dunlap, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
