Samuel David Geer of Abilene, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 16th, 2026 at the age of 77.

As he embarks on his final journey, he left a legacy of hard work, and an unwavering devotion to his family, God, and country.

Samuel was born in Corry, Pennsylvania to William Geer and Rebecca Geer on December 29, 1948. As the youngest of 4 children, Samuel learned very early on the values of responsibility, perseverance, and caring for those around him. Those values carried him throughout his life and became the foundation of the man so many knew and loved.

A true servant at heart, Samuel lived a life defined by hard work, independence, and a deep love of serving his country and the Lord. After graduating from Corry High School, Samuel enlisted in the Marine Corps as a supply specialist. He served two years at Camp Lejeune, South Carolina, in Vietnam and Okinawa, Japan. After he left the Marine Corps, he graduated from Baptist Bible College in Pennsylvania. He served as a Pastor in Queens, New York; Ipswich, Massachusetts and Centerville, Pennsylvania, where he retied in 2016.

On February 22, 1971, Samuel Married Kay Austin. They had two sons Bryan Geer of Florence, Mississippi and Michael Geer of Abilene, Texas, they both brought immense pride and joy to their father's life.

Samuel is survived by his wife Kay Geer, sons Bryan Geer and Michael Geer, Daughter in Laws Lauren Geer and Heather Geer, two grandchildren Hadley Lindsey and Skylar Geer. He is also survived by numerous family and friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, humor, and generous spirit.

Samuel is preceded in death by his Father William Geer, Mother Rebecca Geer, Sister Twila May, Sister Betty Geer and Brother Charles Geer.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their prayers, love, and support during this difficult time. Samuel's legacy of faithful service, quiet strength, and unconditional love for his family and friends will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
