Sandra K. Stevenson, age 82, of Abilene, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, in Abilene. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at North's Funeral Home, with burial to follow at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Family will recieve friends Monday from 5-7pm at North's Funeral Home.
Sandra was born on January 25, 1943, in Bogata, Texas, to Elmo Neal and Earnestine Cotton-Neal. She moved with her family to Longview at the age of 6 where she attended and graduated in 1961 from Womack High School, She then went on to Bishop College where she studied in Sociology. She married the love of her life F. L. Stevenson on February 26, 1971 in Ardmore, OK. Sandra dedicated 15 years of service to Hendrick Medical Center, where she worked as a supervisor. A woman of strong faith, Sandra was deeply involved in her church and loved participating in all church activities. She especially enjoyed singing and was a devoted member of the Shiloh Baptist Church Choir for many years. Her church family held a special place in her heart.
Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved husband, F.L. Stevenson; her parents, Elmo and Earnestine Neal; and siblings Alice Lee, Clennis Neal, Deedra Frazier, Roger Neal, Sheneta Neal, and Marcus Neal.
She is survived by her loving children: Stephanie Wilson (Shawn) of Abilene, Ricky Stevenson, Joe Stevenson, and Kevin Stevenson, all of Abilene; and grandsons whom she raised as her own: Jordan Stevenson (Marie) and Ricky Stevenson Jr. (Amanda), both of Abilene.
Sandra also leaves behind her siblings: Beverly Veasley (Alvin) of Longview, Kenneth Neal, and Twanna Neal, both of Abilene, as well as her extended Shiloh Baptist Church family, who were a constant source of fellowship and love.
Sandra's warmth, faith, and devotion to her family and church will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
