Obituary

Sandra Joyce Tucker, 69, of Potosi, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013. Burial will be Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. in Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of North's Funeral Home. Services will be at Potosi Baptist Church on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. with Keith Clifton officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1 – 2 p.m. at the church. Sandra was born in Sweetwater, Texas on June 28, 1944 to Earl Sloan and Loma Gladys Taylor. She graduated from Newman High in Sweetwater. She married Jack W. Tucker on June 8, 1962. They moved to Snyder in 1965 and then to Abilene in 1979. Sandra was secretary for Cockerell Production in Abilene and retired from there in 2000. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Jim Taylor of Midland, Jack Taylor of Chicksha, Oklahoma, Mac Taylor of Sweetwater; and sister, JoAnn Mondy of Odessa. She is survived by her husband, Jack Wesley Tucker, children: Carrie Manette Hobbs and David Hobbs of Lubbock, Sheridan Danette Tucker and Michael Scott of Abilene, Wesley Mac Tucker and Amanda Tucker of Fort Worth; Grandchildren: Morgan King of Abilene, Taylor Buck of Abilene, Blake, Bethany and Braden Tucker of Fort Worth; Great-Grandchildren: Madelyn Claire King and Jovie Bristol Buck of Abilene; sisters: Linda Wilkinson of Sweetwater, Patty Walker of Gilmer; brother, Glen Taylor of Austin; dozens of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
