Just as the beauty of the West Texas desert draws you back, our God does the same. Sometimes you don't want to leave, you don't want to let go, but He has a place for us, and always has our life in His hands. It is a painful, heartbreaking time, but once you get back to regular life, and the pain fades, you can sit back and think of all the great memories. Hold tight to those memories just like the old desert towns hold on to you, because one day you know you will be back to see it again, and there it will be, ready to greet you again as if you never left. Sherryl Ann Rush, daughter of Billie Louise Hood, and Clyde Leroy Boyte, went home to be with the Lord on January 24, 2017, in Abilene Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, her Beloved stepfather Billy James Hood that raised her as one of his own stepmother June Boyte, and her beloved husband Frederick J. Rush. She leaves behind her daughters Melinda Owen (Greg), Michelle Stewart (Joe), and Mary Miles (Lesley); grandchildren Christopher Owen (Carmen), Allison Stewart, Mykala Owen, Ashley Stewart, and Robert Stewart; great grandchildren Kane Stewart and Blaze Davalos; sister Mary Hall, brother Michael (Boyte) Hood, half brothers and sisters; Clyde Boyte Jr., Lynn Boyte Perez, Denise Boyte, Donny Boyte, Reisha Boyte Taylor, niece Mandy Bear; nephew Daniel Hall; and many great nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Her family invites you to celebrate her life. A memorial service will be held January 28th, 2017 11:00am, at North's Funeral Home (Abilene, Texas), held in the Memorial Chapel. Services will be led by Pastor Keith Clifton. The family would also wish to express their sincerest thanks to the medical staff at Hendrick Medical Center, who took excellent care of our beloved mother, sister, and grandmother.
