Shirley Ann Wheatley age 86, of Abilene, Texas passed away on Dec. 6, 2021 at Abilene Regional Hospital. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday December 10, 2021 11:00 am. First Baptist Church Stamford, Texas. Fellowship to follow at the Church. Shirley Ann Wheatley was born Jan. 9, 1935 in Jones County. She was a life long resident of Texas, Shirley was involved in many organizations throughout the years including Celebration Singers and Stamford Music Club. She was a Business Owner and one of the oldest Licensed Cosmetologist in the State of Texas. She was a talented artist and designed her own Jewelry line. In the early 1960's she was know as a Professional Colorist working for Alberto- Culver as she traveled the US demonstrating color techniques to Salon Owners. Growing up in Jones County she began riding horses as a small child becoming a horse and rodeo enthusiasts competing in Barrel Racing. She was a Life Time Member in The Old Tymer's Association, as her Grandfather WT Goree was a Founder. Many may remember her as she worked at Sam's Club until her death. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents Hazel Goree Grantham (Marcus A.), William Henry Arrant, and Grandson; Joshua Brooks Mossholder. She is survived by her only child, Jamie Carlene Evans, husband (M. Brian) Grandson's, J Justin Mossholder ( Thy), Jacob Mark Mossholder, Great Grand Children, Mare Mossholder, Mackenzie Mossholder , J Khoi Mossholder & Chloe Scott.
