Shirley Ann Wood, 64, of Abilene, Texas past away Tuesday, July 29, 2014.The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange Street. Services will be on Friday, August 1, 2014 in North's Memorial Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Minister Bill Libby officiating. Burial will follow at Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Shirley was born on March 17, 1950 to Thomas Jackson Turner and Ruth Ann Price. She worked in the nursing field as a LVN for fifteen years at Hendrick Medical Center and Abilene Convalescent Center. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Jackson Turner and Ruth Ann Price. She is survived by her husband, Joseph M. Wood Jr., brother Jospeph Lee Turner, daughter Jennifer Lynn Simmons and life partner Katherine Robeson, Sons Thomas J. "T.J." Simmons and wife Redina, Yancey R. Simmons and wife Shelly. Her two grandsons, Timothy Shea Simmons and Joseph Ray Simmons and her two granddaughters, Katelyn Arron Simmons and Chastine Nicco Simmons. She will be dearly missed!
