Tena Joyce Kirkpatrick, 70, of Abilene passed away March 26, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 2:00pm at North's Funeral Home located at 242 Orange Street Abilene, Texas. Tena Joyce Vaughn was born in Hereford, Texas to Roy Vaughn and Della Mae Young on August 20, 1954. Tena graduated from Hereford High School. Tena volunteered as a candy striper at the Hereford Hospital, was a Campfire Blue Bird leader, and worked at Hereford State and Security Federal Bank. After moving to Abilene, Tena enjoyed a career and retired from the Abilene Police Department Records Division. Tena Joyce Kirkpatrick was preceded by death by her father, Roy Vaughn, mother, Della Mae Young, her half-sister, and Ed Brown. Tena is survived by her children, Karmen Johnson (Tony), Rheannon Traves (Cory), and Scott Kirkpatrick (Tiffany), her brother, Johnny Benny Leigh (Kathy), her grandchildren, Alex Hernandez, Samantha Dansby (Caleb), Tyler Traves, Abigale Traves, Toby Kirkpatrick (Ashlynn), and Spence Kirkpatrick, her great-grandson, Lincoln Ray Price, her nephews, Jason Leigh and Ryan Leigh, and her cousins, Sue, Brenda and Bobbye.
