Terrell W. Williamson passed away in an Abilene hospital on Wednesday the 28th of April 2010 at the age of 89. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday at North's Funeral Home 242 Orange Street. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Potosi Baptist Church with Brother Keith Clifton officiating. Burial will follow at Eastland City Cemetery under the direction of North's Funeral Home. Terrell was born July 31 1920 in Staff Eastland County Texas to Frank and Edna Earle Williamson. He was raised on a farm in Staff which today is Lake Leon. He graduated in 1936 from Ranger High School and went on to Tarleton State University for two years. He went to work as an electrician for Texas Electric Service in Eastland and Breckenridge. From there he went to work for the Defense Department as an electrician in 1942. The Defense Department assigned him duties in Oahu Hawaii and he was there until he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1946. He served at Camp Lee Virginia where he attained the rank of Sergeant before being honorably discharged at San Antonio Texas in February 1947. He then worked as an electrical contractor in Paducah Kentucky for several years before returning to Texas. He was a member of the IBEW Local 920 for 50 years retiring in 1986. He married Bobbye Joe Johnson on September 12 1958 in Breckenridge Texas. They moved to Abilene that same year and began a life together of nearly 52 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Eddie Williamson and F.C. Williamson. He is survived by his loving wife Bobbye Joe of Potosi; two sons Eddie Frank Williamson and wife Ina Jo of Potosi and Billy Joe Johnson and wife Lois of Potosi; daughter Nell Kennedy and husband Charles of Olden Texas; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces nephews and cousins and his faithful companion his dog Cindy.
