Terrye Joanne Reid 54 of Abilene passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024 at her home. Funeral services will be held Saturday April 27, 2024 at 2pm at First Baptist Church 1106 15th St. Wellington TX, 79095, with burial to follow at the Fairview North Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8pm at North's Funeral Home 242 Orange St. Abilene, TX Terrye JoAnne Jones-Reid was born in Amarillo, Tx February 2nd, 1970. The third of four daughters born to TJ & Sally Jones. She was a member of Carter Chapel CME Church in Amarillo TX from birth. Terrye's early years were in Amarillo, TX. Her education consisted of Whittier Elementary, Travis Junior High and Palo Duro High School, graduating in 1988. She attended Prairie View College, later moving back to Amarillo. In 1995, the family moved to Abilene Tx, Terrye continued her Christian walk for Christ at Antioch CME Church. Terrye will be missed as Sunday School Secretary, Announcement Clerk, Young Adult Choir Member, Stewardess. Terrye was affectionately called T.Jo by all who loved her. She was a dedicated mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and sister-in-law. Her light shined brightly, fulfilled with humor, wit and laughter from the heart and from deep within her soul. Terrye loves to go shopping with her mother, they would have such a great time, laughing and enjoying each other's company. She enjoyed traveling to various Islands with her sister Lurketia. She loved to express herself through all aspects of beauty by joining the MaryKay Family in 2019. She enjoyed watching her favorite character Scooby-Doo and Cooking with Miss Kendra Brown on TV. She loved her dogs, Blue, Rocko, King, Tinka, and Joley. She enjoyed having long talks with her dad and watching the Word Network on television. Terrye's passion for nursing others was exemplified in the field of Healthcare from 1995-2019. Caring for her patients, sharing her love of Christ often praying with them as a devoted Christian, Certified Nurse Assistant and Administrative Clerk. Terrye was preceded in death by sister Rachel Carter, maternal grandparents Odell and Lucy Meadows, and paternal grandparents Eddie and Ella Jones. Left to cherish her memories are: sons; Javaris Jones (wife Aurora) of Lubbock, Jamare Reid of Abilene, TX, parents TJ and Sally Jones of Abilene, TX. sisters Lurketia Thomas of Amarillo, TX, MoEve Ford(husband Vince) of Rockwall TX. grandson Khyson Jones of Lubbock, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
