Obituary

Thomas E.  Curry 90 of Abilene passed away Friday November 18 2011.   Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-7:30 p.m. at North's Funeral Home 242 Orange Street .  Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at North's Memorial Chapel with Wayne Goforth officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of North's Funeral Home. Mr. Curry was born in Hubbard Texas on December 21 1920 to George Thomas and Lura Ethel Curry.   He served in the United States Army as a Medic from 1942 to 1946.  He was a long time member of the Church of Christ and was baptized at age twenty-seven. He married Florence Faye Sallee in Oklahoma in 1948.  He worked for the post office from 1956 to 1986 and retired after thirty years. He was preceded in death by his wife parents seven sisters and four brothers. He is survived by his children: Marcus Scott Curry of Abilene Deena Lynnette Ashcraft of New Mexico and Melisa June Carpenter of North Carolina;  Niece    Barbara Elaine Curtis of Texas whom he called a daughter and many more nieces and nephews;  nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren one sister Dorothy Faye Sanders of Maine; and close friend Frances Zuber.
