Thomas Ellis 76 of Abilene passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at his home. Funeral Services will be held Thursday April 18 at 11am at Galilee Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Elmwood Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2024, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at North's Funeral Home. Thomas was born December 7, 1947 in Wichita Falls, TX to Clara Augusta Anderson and Lonnie James Ellis. Thomas received his primary education from Wichita Falls public schools. Thomas moved to the Dallas, Fort Worth area and lived and worked there for many years as a Tow Truck driver. Thomas then moved to Knox City where he worked as a farmers Hand. Thomas moved to Abilene in the late 90s where he worked in construction and also as a Tow Truck Driver. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family, and watching the Dallas Cowboys Win or Lose. Thomas was preceded in death by wife Lillie Ellis, parents; Lonnie James Ellis, and Clara Augusta Anderson-Ellis, daughters Sheila Ellis, Mary Jean Ellis, Brother Dave Hunter, Sister Shirley Lewis Left to cherish his memories are: daughter, Delores Stafford of Abilene, TX son, Tommy Ellis (Cindy) of Munday, TX., daughter Lisa Polk ( Donnie) of Abilene, daughter Renee Crosby (Dewayne) of Abilene, daughter Daphanie Lewis of Chicago, IL, brother Joseph Hunter, 16 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and many friends.
