Thomas C. Mashburn, Jr. (T.J.) died at his home in Abilene on Monday, August 31, 2020 after a nearly lifelong battle with epilepsy. He was 37 years old. Born in Abilene, Mr. Mashburn was known for his boisterous sense of humor and his ability to make others laugh, his creativity and artistic talent, and perhaps most of all, his steadfastness in his opinions and his passionate nature. He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas C. Mashburn, Sr. Survivors include his mother, Shirley M. Mashburn; his stepfather, Freddie Pearce; a brother, Adam Mashburn; a sister, Michelle Mashburn, of Dallas; and a brother, Riley Mashburn, of San Angelo. The funeral will be held graveside at 10 a.m. Friday at Tye Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Ritter officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at North's Funeral Home in Abilene on Thursday.
