Thomas W. Spratlen "Tommy", age 88 went home to his Lord on Friday, September 8th, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Memorial services will be held at 11am Friday, September 22, 2023, at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange Street in Abilene with Mark Hackett officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at 2pm on Friday at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 W. Lake Rd., Abilene. Tommy was born on July 9th, 1935, in Trent, Texas to James and Ethel Spratlen and lived in west Texas his entire life. He proudly served his country in the US Army. Tommy was a member of the Church of Christ who loved to play golf and watching all kinds of sports. He possessed a quick wit and always had a funny comment or joke to tell. Tommy was loved by all and will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Ethel Spratlen; daughter, Kim Sims; brothers, Maurice Spratlen, Bobby Spratlen and grandson, Braden Spratlen. Tommy is survived by his beloved wife, Billie Spratlen; sons, Jeff Spratlen and Kevin Spratlen; five grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many wonderful friends.
