Tilman Ware 84, of Abilene entered eternal rest on Friday, May 3, 2024. Visitation will be held at North's Funeral Home Thursday May 9, 2024 from 6-8PM. Funeral Services will be held Friday May 10, 2024 at North's Funeral Home with minister Glenn Ware officiating at 1PM. Cremation to follow with a private inurnment at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at a later date. Tilman Ware was born December 10th, 1939 in Kingston, Louisiana to the parentage of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest and Luezia Ware and was one of eight children. Tilman was raised in Shreveport, Louisiana where he received his primary education from Booker T Washington High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Tilman served his country for 24 years before retiring in 1985. After retiring from the military, Tilman became an employee of Ab-Tex Beverages and later the Challenger Group. He recently retired from the Challenger Group in 2023. In his spare time, Tilman loved to spend time with family and friends. He was very skilled as a mechanic and always preferred to do his own work and repairs. Dad spent countless hours working around the house. He would often take the time to teach his family about crafts and imparted his knowledge and experience upon us in many ways. He loved being outdoors and could often be found at Stevenson Park, where he enjoyed the company of friends. Many of his days were spent at home, on the back patio, cooking or grilling. Tilman was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved watching football games. He also enjoyed good music, watching western shows and doing yard work. Tilman entered eternal rest on May 3rd, 2024. Preceding him in death were his parents, Ernest and Luezia Ware, brothers; I. W. Ware, Berness Ware, Willie George Ware, Ernest Ware Jr., sisters; Ida Bell Brown and Allie Real Williams. Left to cherish his memories are: wife of 47 years, Frankie Ware, sons; Donnie Ray Carrion, Fredrick Don Ware and Ronny Dewayne Ware (April), daughters, Deloris Antionette Horton (Steve) Ajuji Tunu Ware, sister in laws; Creola Ware, Arlene Sanders, Sharon Flannagan and Cynthia Green, brother in laws; Calvin Flannagan and Harold Jefferson and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
