Timothy D. Penns Sr. 66 passed away March 7, 2026 in Abilene. Memorial service will be held Saturday April 25, 2026 at 11am at King Solomon Baptist Church with Pastor Andrew Penns officiating. a Visitation will be held Friday 6-8pm at North's Funeral Home. Timothy Dean Penns, Sr., affectionately known to his family as "Spud," passed away on April 7, 2026, in Abilene, Texas. Born on June 11, 1959, in Abilene, Timothy lived a life filled with love for his family and a passion for the simple joys that brought people together. Timothy dedicated many years of his life as a truck driver and also shared his culinary talents as a cook at Hardin-Simmons University and McMurry University. Known for his outgoing nature and fun-loving spirit, Timothy had a gift for leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. A man of many talents and interests, Timothy found joy in riding horses and was admired for his exceptional landscaping skills. He also took great pride in his cooking. Timothy is survived by his children: DeeDee Penns, Timothy Penns Jr., and Kimberly Penns; six grandchildren: Marquise Booker, Jacolby Booker, Elaziah Booker, Alexia Williams, Qwaveon Moore-Williams, and Aaliyah Williams; and three great-grandchildren: E'Siyah Turner, Tytus Turner, and Kyngston Carroll. He also leaves behind three brothers: Rev. John J. Penns(Sharon), Rev. Andrew L. Penns, and Clarence E. Penns (Alice); two sisters: Sarah Patton(Chris) and Marilyn Scott(Carl); along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will cherish their memories of him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Alex W. Penns Sr. and Erma M. Turnerhill-Penns; along with two brothers: Alex W. Penns Jr. and David E. Penns. Timothy's legacy is one of warmth, laughter, and an enduring sense of community. The viewing will be held on April 24, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at North Funeral Home (242 Orange St.). A memorial service will follow on April 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM at King Solomon Baptist Church (1050 Minda St.). His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him best.
