Trillis "Ed" Hollyfield of Abilene passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Northern Oaks Living and Rehab. Graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 29 at 11:00am with Minister Wes Terry Officiating. Ed was born October 12, 1942 in Pound, VA to Ishmael Hollyfield and Ruth Madelyn Vanover. Ed received his primary education from Pound public schools. After High School he enlisted in the United States Air Force, and spent 38 years in active duty and civil service to the Air Force before retiring in 2009. Ed married Thelma Carol Johnson in 1974, and the two spent 43 loving years together before her passing in 2017. Ed was preceded in death by wife Carol Hollyfield, parents, Ishmael and Ruth Hollyfield, sister Linda, and brother Mike. Left to cherish his memories are: daughter, Joy Nelson, and husband Don of Prosper, TX, son Lawrence Hollyfield and wife Cheryl of Tampa, FL. grandchildren: Bailee, Wyatt, Alara, Alessandra, siblings: Carol, Danny, Rena, Kenny, Arlene, Darlene, and Patrick, and a host of extended family and many friends.
