Truman Lee Adams, also known as "Lee, Dad, and Grandpa," went to be with the Lord on February 23, 2023, at the age of 92. He was born on August 22, 1931, to Alice May (Ross) Adams and Glenn Adams in Mineola, Texas. He had to quit school after receiving an 8th grade education because his dad and brothers needed help working the farm. At the age of 20, he joined the United States Coast Guard and served Honorably for 20 years and 1 month. Truman was a war hero, earning 2 Bronze Stars for serving during the Vietnam and Korean Wars. His hobbies included working in his garden, fishing, and getting together with his family. He met and married Georgia Pauline Hill Hays Ellis (Newberry) Adams, who had 2 children of her own, Larry and Perry Hill. Truman and Georgia adopted 4 children: Truman Shawn Adams, Kimberly Jeannette (Adams) Barclay, Karen Jeannine (Adams) Harrington, and Brandi Shawnell (Adams) Owens. He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Pauline Hill Hays Ellis (Newberry) Adams of Murchison, Texas; mother, Alice May (Ross) Adams of Grand Prairie, Texas; his father, Glenn Adams of Grand Prairie, Texas; brothers: Marshall Adams of Dallas, Texas, Kenneth Adams of Dallas, Texas, Jerald Adams of Dallas, Texas, and Billy Adams of Murchison, Texas; sister: Sonya Adams of California; Step-Sons: Larry Franklin Hill of Murchison, Texas, and Perry Hill, of Georgia; Son: Truman Shawn Adams of Lockhart, Texas. Truman is survived by his children, Kimberly Jeannette (Adams) Barclay of Murchison, Texas, Karen J. Harrington of Tuttle, Oklahoma, and Brandi Shawnell (Adams) Owens of Amarillo, Texas; his grandchildren: Jason Adams of Pflugerville, Texas, Tyson Adams of Snoqualmie, Washington, Cason Adams of Round Rock, Texas, Tiffany (Harrington) Sandlin of Yukon, Oklahoma, John Truman Harrington of Tuttle, Oklahoma, and Lexi Barclay of Murchison, Texas; his great grandchildren: Journi Barclay-McBride of Murchison, Texas.
