Vada Janis Briley of Abilene passed away October 20, 2021 at Silver Spring Health and rehabilitation Center, Abilene, Texas. Private burial will be at the City Cemetery under the direction of North's Funeral Home. Vada was born on November 28, 1933 in Truby, Jones County, Texas to Henry Cyrus Hall, Jr. and Vada Corrine Bell Hall. She married Charles Wayne Briley on December 12, 1958 In Abilene. They celebrated their 50th anniversary on December 12, 2008. Her early schooling was in Truby, later attending Abilene High School and Draughons Business School. She worked as a bookkeeper at abilene Casket Company from 1958 to 1978, then McIntyre Auto Service, and Sam's Club. Ms. Briley played the piano and enjoyed genealogy, hunting and fishing. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by four children; daughter Carol Darnell and husband Rich Gaboury of Wilmington, Ohio, sons, John Briley and wife Lisa of Cleburne, Texas, Randy Briley of Abilene and David Briley and wife Lyn of Abilene, She leaves behind grandchildren and great grandchildren.
