Virginia Garcia, 92, of Abilene, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at North's Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Abilene City Cemetery. Born October 7, 1933, in Pandora, Texas. She entered the world with a quiet strength that would one day anchor an entire family. She met the love of her life Francisco Angeles Garcia in her youth, a partnership that would become the foundation of a beautiful, bustling family. Together, they moved to Abilene, Texas; where she would spend the rest of her life-raising children, nurturing grandchildren, and creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and the smell of something cooking on the stove. A devoted homemaker, she raised five girls and three boys, each one shaped by her steady guidance, her unwavering patience, and her fierce love. She was a woman of deep Catholic faith, never missing a chance to pray for her family, her community, and anyone who needed a little extra grace. She worked for many years at Hendrick Medical Center, where her kindness and work ethic touched countless lives long before they ever knew her as the grandmother who spoiled everyone equally. Her joys were simple but powerful: gardening, where she coaxed beauty from the earth; dancing, where she moved with the same joy she carried in her heart; and family visits, which were her greatest treasure. As a grandmother, she was legendary. Her grandkids often playfully battled for her affection, a competition she found endlessly amusing. She would just smile and say, "I love all my grandchildren the same." And she meant it. Her life was a testament to devotion-devotion to her faith, her family, her roots, and the simple beauty of everyday moments. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to grow in the gardens she planted, the traditions she passed down, and the hearts of everyone blessed enough to call her mother, grandmother, great grandmother, or a friend. Her story is not just remembered - it will continue to live through every life she touched. She is preceded in death by her parents, Genoveva and Mateo Salinas; her husband, Francisco Angeles Garcia; her son, Ector (Hector) Garcia; her grandson Ricky Delapaz Jr; and her siblings, Ciraco, Vicente, Alberto, Basilio Sealo Salinas Jr. and Larry Salinas, and sister, Sara Rangel. Survivors include her daughters, Rosemary (Rick) Delapaz, Felicita (Carlos) Salazar, Flora (Oscar) Garcia, Carmen (Webb) Pederson, and Angela Garcia, her sons Francisco Angeles Garcia Jr. and Patrick Garcia. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.
