Vonda Slayton of Abilene passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021 at her home. Graveside services will be held Thursday September 16, 2021 at 10a.m. at Buffalo Gap Cemetery Vonda was born September 19,1946 in Coleman, TX. to Maxine Ferguson and Ray Dempsey. Vonda received her primary education from Coleman public schools. Vonda married Billie Earl Slayton in 1960. The two moved to San Antonio. In 1968 the family moved to Abilene, TX. Vonda loved to work outside in her yard and adored her loving dog Toby. Vonda was preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish her memories are: daughters: Theresa Slayton of Abilene, Texas, Leisha Kerley (Rick Arrington) of Abilene, Texas. Grandchildren; Casey Kerley and wife Melissa of Tuscola, Texas, Dalton Kerley of Abilene, Texas and two great-grandchildren Charlotte Kerley and Mason Barnett both of Tuscola, TX.
