Wayne Derrell Nichols 69 died March 17 2008 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be Wednesday March 19 at the Minter Lane Church of Christ with Jim Cox officiating. Burial will be in Albany Texas under the direction of North's Funeral Home 242 Orange St. Visitation will be Tuesday March 18 at North's Funeral Home 242 Orange. Mr. Nichols was born May 14 1938 in Albany Texas to Grady and Lillie Drake Nichols. He graduated from the Albany schools and attended Ranger Junior College. He graduated from Frank Phillips Jr. College in 1960. Later in life he completed courses at T.S.T.I. in Breckenridge Texas. Mr. Nichols was a past president of the Albany Jaycees where he was selected ""Key Man"" in 1969. He was a long time salesman for the Herby's Foods. Wayne was a member of the Minter Lane Church of Christ where he was active with the program involving neighborhood children. His parents three brothers Bill Milburn and F.R. and two nephews preceded him in death. Survivors include his daughter Christy Reed of Slaton Texas; a sister Rose Merle Huskins of Breckenridge Texas two grandchildren Christian and Kaitlin; several nephews and nieces great nephews and nieces great-great nephews and nieces and a host of friends.
