Obituary

Dr. William "Rob" Robin Dominy 64 of Abilene Texas gave up his earthly suit June 24 2012 in the loving arms of his family. Private family memorial services are planned under the direction of North's Funeral Home 242 Orange Street . He was born June 22 1948 in Abilene Texas to James F. Dominy Jr. and Adelyn Willingham Dominy. Rob attended Wylie Independent School District from kindergarten through the twelfth grade graduating valedictorian in 1966 back when Wylie ISD was still one campus. He completed his undergraduate and graduate education at Texas A&M University graduating with his DVM from A & M's School of Veterinary Medicine in 1971. After serving in the US Air Force he returned to Abilene in 1975 where he established his practice at Elm Creek Veterinary Clinic with Dr. James Kelley where he served the community for 30 years. Rob's experiences with the Boy Scouts ascending to Eagle Scout; the A & M Corps of Cadets as well as being a member of the Knights Templar Masons for 40 years molded him into the considerate caring man he was. Rob was best known for his patience wit generosity and ever-present hat. He would often be found skiing with the West Texas Ski Council and was a charter member of the Tres Hombres Locos Ski Club whose motto is: "How hard can it be . . . Oh that hard". During his retirement he spent his time traveling with his wife teaching his grandchildren life lessons from skiing to changing tires but he never wasted his time trying to teach a pig to march. He was known for his love of learning history ice cream and candy. Rob is survived by his wife Anne Agnew Dominy; daughters Joni Dominy McKinnon Julia Dominy Watkins and Jennifer Martin Graham; siblings; James F. Dominy III and Gayle Morgan; grandchildren Kaitlyn Done Kyler Bone Keelan McKinnon Corbyn Mills and Alora Mills. In Lieu of Flowers donations may be made to Rescue the Animals SPCA. 4601 N. 1st.
